In the end we went with this because Fred was, above all, an optimistic prankster. We think it’s what he would have liked. Happy 32nd birthday, Fred and George. P.S. Chandler and I are really proud of this letter and we wrote it partly as a reaction to another letter that was going around at the time, which said something like: Dear Fred, It’s our birthday and I miss you so much. I know you’re up there. I love you. Love,George And it had thousands of notes. Are you shitting me. Have you even read the books. Do you lack basic comprehension skills.

Instead we get Hermione talking with Harry and Ron standing there not saying a fucking word. And the mutilation of the characterization of Ronald Weasley continues. I think that’s a big part of why I loved Deathly Hallows so much… movie!Ron was actually Ron. You know, as opposed to the comic relief sidekick to the Harry and Hermione show.
